My name is Jim Labadie.
I’m 35 years old.
I played football when I was in high school.
Four guys I played with back in the day are already gone.
Mike and Kevin died of cancer.

Dane died from a heart attack thanks to drugs, alcohol and Marlboro Reds.
Paul was in the World Trade Center on one of the top floors on that day in September.
I think about these men every so-often just to remind myself how short life is. How precious life is.
It’s New Year’s Eve Day as I write this.
The perfect time, I think.
Do what you love.
Be great at it.

The fat and the lazy
May 31, 2007 by jim · Leave a Comment
Some people are just fat and lazy. I know guys who couldn’t wait to get married just so they could get, well, fat and lazy.
There are lots of people like that. And I don’t feel very bad for them when their health falls apart.
But there are also people in who are fat who aren’t necessarily lazy. These people are in serious emotional pain.
Some people drink to mask the pain. Others shoot drugs.
There are people who work all the time to keep from feeling anything.
And there are people who go numb by eating. They eat and they eat and they eat rather than face life.
Last Wednesday I interviewed Dr. Christopher Mohr on many topics for our Prograde tele-seminar series. One of the things we covered was emotional eating.
Two things:
1- You may have clients who are emotional eaters. And while it’s very possible these people need professional treatment that neither you or I are qualified to give, it is important for you to be educated on the topic.

To do so Dr. Mohr recommends you read The Handbook of Obesity Treatment, by Wadden and Stunkard. You can easily find it on Amazon.com.
2- If you’re already a Prograde trainer and didn’t catch this information packed tele-seminar you can catch the replay. It’s posted in the resources section of your account.

Chris also covered:
- powerful behavior modification strategies for your clients

- how to wean clients off of fast food
- how to help your clients fight cravings
and so much more…

The moral of the story today:
Not everyone is just fat and lazy. Some people mask pain with food and it’s very important for us to remember that. We’re fitness professionals. I know I can be a real hard-a** so this is a reminder for me as well - to be more compassionate.

Three Things You Want to Know
1) My friend and customer Jerry Hill just landed a nice media hit for the Michael Moore challenge that is bringing some good web traffic. Check it out at:
You should be using the http://michaelmoorehealthchallenge.com/ to land your own publicity.
2) If you’re looking for the lowest cost (to my knowledge) personal training insurance - from a company that is 100% reputable - then look no further than http://Trainer-Insurance.com
divx hunt for the unicorn killer the
I know the president of the company personally. Ken Reinig is a great guy and you will be in great hands when you are covered by his firm.
3) There is a complete Fitness Together franchise for sale in South Florida that is practically being given away.
No clients on the books, so it is kind of like starting your own FT, but you don’t have to do anything but crank up the marketing. The facility has been in operation for awhile, but the guy who was minding the store for the owner, well, he went AWOL on him.
You get to have it all for $49K, instead of the normal $150-170K start up. AND in a demographic that is wildly wealthy.
There is no reason NOT to be training 750-900 clients/month within 9-12 months. If you want to live in South Florida, or already do, and want a turn-key business at a breakneck price…
Cliff Latham is one of the top guys in Fitness Together and one of my subcribers. If you’re interested, get in touch with him NOW!

OR
Email him at: clifflatham@fitnesstogether.com
There are already two people on their way down to my neck of the woods to look at it. Literally, as I write this they are on their way to Florida to possibly buy it.
Please be sure to tell Cliff you heard about it from Jim Labadie.
Have a great weekend!

Recently I was asked by one of my http://VelvetRopeReferrals.com customers if he could “Velvet Rope” his Boot Camp.
Great question.
My advice?
H*ll yeah!
You should make it known up-front to all campers that your camp is only for people who want serious resuts while having serious fun.
Let them know whining is not tolerated.
Let them know complaining is not tolerated.
But have fun with it. Perhaps you could even “borrow” from Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly who has his “No Spin Zone.”
You can call your camp a “No Whining Zone” or something similar.
Energy vampires aren’t always private one-on-one clients. They can infect boot camps too.
Don’t let them.

Tough, Heart-Thumping Workout
May 29, 2007 by jim · Leave a Comment
Before I went on vacation I asked my friend Amanda Vogel for a way to promote fitness as fun. A way to get people excited about joining a Boot Camp or some other fitness program.
tingler the divx
Her response is brilliant.
****
What works well is to get people excited to join a program that culminates with a special outing or event. We did that at the club where I was VP a few years ago. The big event was to climb a local mountain, the Grouse Grind, as a group, supporting and encouraging each other.
The Grind is famous in Vancouver for being a tough, heart-thumping workout. The feeling of achievement you get when you finish and the view of the city from the top are well worth the effort.
watch testament in divx
At our club, we organized a program to help people who might not have imagined ever doing the Grind - these are the people who get the biggest emotional payoff from such an event. The marketing hooks were:
1) a program that showed members exactly how to get fit for our big event, so they’d feel prepared, supported and motivated (this was also a good way to stimulate word of mouth in the club because people talked about “training for the Grind”),
… and, even more importantly …
2) helping members achieve a confidence-boosting “rite of passage” on the Vancouver fitness scene - hiking the Grouse Grind - with the encouragement and guidance of other gym members and qualified staff.
By the way, if you have a local fitness attraction such as the Grouse Grind, helping less-fit people conquer the feat (these are people who wouldn’t normally do it on their own) can also be a good hook for a human interest story with the local media.

By the way, Amanda is the co-creator of Profitable Fitness Events for Managers and Trainers. A CD available at http://www.activevoice.ca/fitmark_profevents.shtml

“Jim,
Just wanted to give you a quick heads up on the progress I’ve made with my camps since purchasing your Ultimate Boot Camp Product.
I started in March ‘06 with about 10 people attending. It’s steadily grown over the last 9 months with this month hitting 56 enrolled!!
It was your product that cemented the idea to start my own camps. I had no idea at the time that some initial guidance from the Ultimate BC CD’s and some marketing know how would amount to a such a successful business.
I want to thank you for providing that spark that ignited what this year will be a SIX-FIGURE boot camp business!!”

“Hi Jim,
My name is Lyle Johnson, owner of MVP Fitness in St. Louis. I purchased your Boot Camp Start Up Kit and have gotten great results. I have had 44 camp members enroll in MVP Fitness Boot Camp in the first month. Not bad considering I only had 3 clients last year before the Kit!
Currently I am holding three camps; one at a local high school, another in an affluent subdivision and the other one for the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Organization, which is actually held on the baseball diamond at the brand new Busch Staduim.
I feel great and very confident in the future direction of MVP Fitness and I am looking forward to improving more people’s lives by offering more boot camps.
Thanks again! Your Ultimate Boot Camp Start-Up Kit CDs really helped me grow my business!”

The Hard Way
May 28, 2007 by jim · Leave a Comment
Carol and I just got back from a trip to Key West for Christmas.
And I gotta tell ya, I’m still so relaxed I’m having trouble just typing this.
Seriously, if you’ve never been to Key West to see a sunset, well, it’s one of those things you really need to put on your list.
One night we were hanging out at the infamous Sloppy Joe’s Bar for a beer and some live music.
download crank dvd
And while the band was far from the greatest, I did hear something very interesting come from the lead singer.
More than likely, you’ve heard it before, too. It was one of those moments where the singer takes a moment to say, “Thanks so much for coming to see us tonight and spending your hard earned cash…”
And there it was.

While it can set you back a couple mill just for a condo in the Keys, a quick look around the room had me guessing that the audience was the Hard Earned type.
And there’s nothing wrong with that. Nothing at all.
My uncle is a retired sheet-metal worker. My cousin makes a very good living with great benefits at Home Depot.
You won’t find nicer or more generous people than them.
But personally, I don’t want to do things the Hard Way.
Not when the tools, systems and strategies to do things much easier are within easy reach.

Save Hours Of Time With This One Tip

I’m a recycler.
I love recycling content as many ways as possible.
I’ve used one article 5 different ways and have more uses for it in the future.

Here is how I have used my “4 Powerful Tips for Marketing Fitness Boot Camps” article:
1- You can find it here:
http://www.protraineronline.com/past/Mar&Apr07/article3.cfm
(you may have to copy and paste into your browser)
2- This same article was just published in the print version of the Australian “Personal Trainer Network” magazine.
download sexy beast dvd
3- I’ve used the actual article as a “regular” email newsletter to my entire list.
4- It’s a part of the autoresponder series at http://howtoprofitwithbootcamps.com
5- I’m recylcing it right now
It takes me less than an hour to write an article, so it didn’t take me much time to begin with.
But can you see how powerful recycling your content can be?
How much time it saves?
How it still promotes you as an expert even when it’s used over and over and over again?
So ask yourself: What am I doing with MY best content?

Questions Are SOOO Powerful
May 28, 2007 by jim · Leave a Comment
Everybody talks to themselves.
I know I do.
I know you do.
Words are VERY powerful. That’s why it’s important to always be mindful of your self-talk.
And after reading an email from Joe Vitale about “afformations” I changed the way I affirm things.
Yes, you read that right. AffOrmations.
As an example, one of my favorite affirmations in the past has been, “muney is attracted to me like a magnet!”
Now I say it as, “Why is muney attraced to me like a magnet?”
“How did I become a multi-milliunaire so fast?”
The difference?
If you pose it as a question, instead of a statement, your sub-concious mind MUST search for the answer.
Simple, but powerful.
I’m confident you can come up with some pretty good ones for yourself and your clients.
And even better question?
How did Samantha Taylor of Tampa, FL beat her monthly personal training sales record at her studio by $15,000?
She uses the Ultimate Sales Kit for Fitness Professionals from http://HowToGetMoreClients.com

PS- What kind of questions did Chris McCombs ask?
“Jim,
Wow! You’re Ultimate Sales Kit is the real deal. I listen to it over and over in my car and on my ipod when I do cardio.
Instead of trying to talk people into purchasing my services like a lot of trainers do I have now pretty much become a master at getting the prospective client to explain to me exactly why they the think I should train them.
Closing the sale is now just a natural conclusion to the process. I now know how and when to ask all the right questions to get the prospect on an emotional roller coaster to the point where they are practically begging to train with me.
I have implemeted your wisdom and principles from the Sales Kit and the Velvet Rope dvd and am happy to say I am getting damn close to my goal of making $3000 a week for only working 3 full days and 2 half days a week.

One of my Biggest Public Speaking Secrets
May 28, 2007 by jim · Leave a Comment
If you aren’t doing any public speaking to promote your fitness business I highy suggest you start right away. There are a ton of networking and civic organizations that meet weekly and need speakers. More than likely, you’ll need to do it for free, but there’s no cheaper or faster way to grow your client base.
The biggest mistake I used to make when I started public speaking, with the hopes of selling my services, was taking questions at the end.
Why is that a mistake?
download bled divx
Simple. The talk you give should be designed to have a very strong “close” at the end. You can’t do that if your talk drags on and on with endless questions from people trying to get free advice from you.
Hey, I’m sure you’re a great person, but this is a free talk. You can’t give it ALL away for free when you’re running a business.
So what do you do?
Take questions in the beginning. That way you can answer them as you go along to make sure everyone is happy. And you’ll never run out of content either, so it will help with any fear you may have about speaking.
Plus, it allows you to make a strong “close” at the end to let everyone know you’re looking for clients who are ready to make great changes in their lives!

Dominate Your Competition The Easy Way
I have to thank one of my subcribers for this idea.
So thanks to Matt Warren of Colorado for writing me the following quick note:
hitman dvdrip download
“Sometime you need to write an email about cheesy trainers who pose on their websites with their shirts off - total turnoff and creates a disconnect with the masses (not to mention the husbands who’s wives they hope to train)”
It immediately got me to thinking about a conversation I had with Nate Green recently. And in case you don’t remember, Nate is the 22 year old fitness entrepreneur phenom I wrote about last week.
Anyway, as Nate was talking about his astonishing success he was most amazed at something other than the results he had achieved.
divx romper stomper
Nate was amazed at how easy it was.
Now make no mistake, there was hard work, sacrifice and discipline involved.
But aren’t there lots of people who work long hours for little pay who work hard and sacrifice with no real light at the end of the tunnel?
Nate and his business partner Sam Glauber worked hard for awhile and are now reaping the benefits.
Again, a 22 year old fitness trainer who runs his own personal training studio with complete business systems was most amazed by how easy it was to create.
So getting back to Matt’s point about “cheesy” trainers.
How many of those do you know?
With so many knucklehads in this industry it’s actually incredibly easy to dominate your market.
And here’s something I want to point out to you. It needs to be clear as day.
watch constant gardener the in divx love potion no 9 divx movie online
If you spend more time b*itching and moaning about all those cheesy trainers and how they are ruining your profession than you do celebrating the fact they make it so easy for your to be successful…
