How to charge $100 (at least) for an hour of your time

Once upon a time I had a conversation with one of my Ultimate Sales Kit customers.

We spoke about the rate he charges per session. And while he truly believes he deserves the $100 he asks for - and I do too -he has trouble asking people for that much money.

He told me he hates the cringe on the face of his prospect when they hear he charges $100 per session.

As soon as I heard that I knew what the problem was.

If someone cringes in response to something YOU say, it is because of something YOU are doing.

Chances are you yourself are cringing first.

Or your tone of voice may have changed from one of confidence to one of self-doubt.

So you need to be very wary of two things:

1- When you tell them how much you charge make sure you say it with complete confidence and authority. If for any reason you give your prospect the sense you aren’t worth the asking price they’ll pick it up sub-consciously and all is lost.

Well, more than likely.

2- Make sure you don’t have any “headtrash” in regards to what people are willing to pay for a service they value. In other words, if you think people would never pay $100 (or more) per session then why the heck are you charging that much?

The fact of the matter is, people will pay $100 per hour (or more) for a good service to someone they believe will deliver the results they are paying for.

But you have to believe you’re really worth it.

Who loves ya? ;-)

“It’s quite possible I’ve got more qualifications than anyone else in my field. Seriously, I’ve got more letters after my name than I have in my name! However, I’m going to let you in on the horrible truth…there is no relationship between being technically good or skilled at what you do and getting paid.

Jim Labadie is THE MASTER and he has solved that problem. The Ultimate Sales Kit for Fitness Professionals is almost as good as having Jim as your own personal sales staff. Within days of listening to the CD’s you’ll have, at the least, doubled your investment.

BOTTOM LINE: If you don’t have this kit in your arsenal, you better pray your competition doesn’t. It’s that powerful.”

Get BIG Publicity (And Moolah) With One Email

July 30, 2007 by jim · Leave a Comment

Can you really get BIG media exposure with one email?

Yes, you can.

Does it ALWAYS happen?

No.

But as Wayne Gretzky said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”

The media doesn’t create the news. They cover it.

And they are always looking for interesting stories, so they’re more than happy to hear about one from you.

I was in NJ visiting my family at the end of June. And while I was there I saw yet ANOTHER newspaper article on Boot Camps.

Check it out here:

“Boot Camp Whips People Into Shape” http://tinyurl.com/2jz4lq

The writer participated in the camp and wrote a story about it.

Happens all the time.

And it couldn’t be easier for you to invite your local media to do the same.

How?

1- Find out who in your area covers “Better Living” kind of stories

2- Find out how to contact them

3- Contact them and invite them to come to your camp.

Pretty simple really.

And with Boot Camps it’s even easier because:

A- There are lots of visuals for pictures to include with the story

B- There are lots of people to interview for the story

C- People are always interested in shedding pounds

D- It’s easy for the journalist to cover because they simply write about their experience

I’ve written it many, many time before: Life is easy, when you let it be.

Who loves ya? ;-)

PS- Of course, it’s a lot easier when you run camps of your own.

“Hey Jim,

When I’m running my boot camp class I’m always thinking, ‘what a great use of my time’. It comes out to about $210 an hour. It’s a great way to start your morning!

I am planning on hiring another trainer, or doing two classes next month. Thanks for your help, and the Ultimate Boot Camp Start-up Kit CD’s!”

Is BareFoot Training The Way To Go?

Is BareFoot Training The Way To Go?

Well, I’m not the guy to answer that question.

But there is a really cool product on the market that you should check out. And no, I don’t have anything whatsoever to do with the company. I get nothing out of this. I’ve never tried them on.

But when my friend, and fellow fitness pro, Joe Stankowski showed me their website I was intrigued.

Check them out at: http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/

Pretty cool, huh?

The best part is Joe spoke the the company and as fitness pros you can get 40% off! I believe it’s called the ProDeal Program.

If you want in then you need to contact Georgia Shaw at georgia.shaw@vibramusa.com

You’re going to have to provide some sort of proof you are a fitness pro. Like a website, or biz card, or whatever.

Who hooks you up? ;-)

Closely Guarded Infomercial Secret

July 25, 2007 by jim · Leave a Comment

I had to put this on on the blog because the filters just wouldn’t have let these terms slide through.

No way.

Anyway, I was watching the tube for a couple minutes this morning to help me wake up - I am NOT a morning person - and I got to watch one of my favorite programs.

A weight loss infomercial!!

Can there be a better educational tool for a fitness pro to learn marketing from?

I highly doubt it.

Especially since it reminded me of two amazing terms to help market your business.

1- Dress sizes
2- Inches

How many times have you watched an infomercial where they repeatedly say - and with great reason - “I went from a size 14 to a size 8 and lost 6 inches around my waist”?

I watched about 5 minutes of this one and they must have said it 50 times!

And since I’ve seen this particular infomercial quite a few times now it must be working. If it wasn’t “pulling” they wouldn’t still be running it.

How does this apply to you?

Well, how often do you ask your clients to write testimonials that include how many inches they have lost and dress sizes they have dropped?

Simple. But so freakin’ powerful it’s stupid.
