Student of the game

July 31, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

It’s VERY simple.

Most trainers are students of fitness. They LOVE to learn about fitness.

And they can’t believe when they fail in business.

That would change if they LOVED to learn about sales, marketing, publicity, etc.

If you really, really, really want to succeed as the owner of a personal training business owner you MUST become a student of the game.

If you really believe getting ONE book or video or CD set is going to turn you into a millyunaire…

I’ve spoken to some struggling trainers lately and the problem is always the same:

They simply have not transformed themselves into the full-time students of business they need to be.

Bottom line: Keep learning everything you can about the business aspect or stay an employee.

Neither choice is right or wrong.

But if you want to play in this world you need to come prepared. And constant learning is the only way to do that.

Still love ya.

PS - The price for Rocco’s http://UltimateConsultationSystem.com goes up TONIGHT at 11:59pm EST. Be a SMART student and grab it while it’s still only $29.

Look your prospects dead in the eye and say…

July 30, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment

Most trainers are scared to death.

Scared to death to ask for what they are worth.

It’s unfortunate, because it seems the ones who have no problem asking for high fees aren’t worth what they charge.

If you can’t look a person square in the eye and say without an ounce of hesitation, “I charge 250 smacks for a consultation and comprehensive plan”, well, you have no chance of getting it.

Now some of you are reading this and thinking, “250, that’s it?”

Others are scratching their heads wondering, “Do some trainers really get paid that much for a consult?”

It’s so freakin’ obvious, but it’s true: You have to believe in yourself.

If you’re good at what you do, with the right positioning, marketing and publicity, you’ll be shocked at what you can charge for your programs.

As I wrote you yesterday, my friend Rocco Castellano of http://UltimateConsultationSystem.com has ZERO problem asking for - and getting - up to 500 bux for consulting.

And for now, you can get his entire system for just $29.

You better BELIEVE his system kicks you know what and will give you all you need to add this crazy lucrative revenue stream to increase your bottom line.

Who loves ya? ;-)

 Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie

This Thursday at midnight EST, Rocco will be raising the price to $67. That’s a promise.

Just the forms and handouts alone are worth a couple hundred clams.

 The http://UltimateConsultationSystem.com is a complete no-brainer.

Another income stream for ya

July 29, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment

As a personal training business owner, you’re in a very vulnerable position if you rely on only ONE income stream.

VERY vulnerable.

But don’t you worry, I’ve got a solution for you.

My buddy Rocco Castellano has made - and this is very much true - millyuns over the course of several years by incorporating Fitness Consultations as one of his income streams.

You see, Rocco has done what most talk about. He really IS a celebrity fitness trainer in every sense of the word.

He has trained Spike Lee and JFK Jr. He has trained Miss USA contestants. He has a syndicated column that runs in newspapers all over the country. He’s got his own radio show.

He’s 100% the real deal.

And when he told Pat Rigsby and I about how much moolah he was making with his Fitness Consultations, well, we told him he needed to make a product out of it so we could share it with YOU!

If you know Rocco, you know he does NOT mess around.

So he revealed EVERYTHING. And he turned it ALL loose.

You literally get all he’s got in his http://UltimateConsultationSystem.com

It’s as turn-key as turn-key gets. It’s all in there.

I even grilled him for a solid hour to be sure we squeezed every little bit of profit building info from him.

And you’ll never believe what he has to say about landing TONS of publicity. (he really does make it stupid simple to turn yourself into a serious celebrity fitness pro)

Best part?

Pat and I told him we wanted this product to be crazy affordable.

And it is. It’s $29 smacks. Yup, just $29.

For now.

This Thursday at midnight EST, Rocco will be raising the price to $67. That’s a promise.

Just the forms and handouts alone are worth a couple hundred clams.

The http://UltimateConsultationSystem.com is a complete no-brainer.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie

PS - The more income streams the better. Plus, you can charge a hefty price for these. And Rocco makes it SOOO easy. Don’t dilly dally. Get over to http://UltimateConsultationSystem.com NOW and get it will it’s still a measly $29.

BIG tip helps you succeed

Savvy business owners are always looking to cut costs in the right places.

But when it comes to anything dealing with legal issues, well, that is NOT the time to scrimp.

If you need a waiver created…

If you need to create a contract…

If you’re creating a partnership…

I know attorney fees can add up.

A few hundred here. A few hundred there. And maybe a grand or two just for fun.

But it doesn’t matter. You simply have to cover your butt from the beginning.

Get a good attorney on your team of advisors and follow their advice.

Run your business like a business.

Seems obvious, I know. But it’s advice that is often ignored.

PPS - Just in case you missed this:

“Hi Jim,

I wanted to thank you for your email and concern about the http://AmazingFitnessPresentations.com kit. I have been putting the information to good use.

My first experience was at a church function. We signed up forty (40) new clients.

We are doing a yoga class once a week at the church hall. Everyone was very excited about this new class and to experience a new exercise routine on the church premises. I am sure that once we get a few classes going, we will start building new clients. This kit has been very helpful and informative to me and my group.

I enjoy reading your emails everyday and I will encourage every personal trainer to get this kit. Thanks again.”

The Smartest Thing I’ve Ever Done

July 28, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment

 What is it?

What’s the smartest thing I’ve ever done?

Well, I’m no rocket scientist.

Ain’t no brain surgeon.

If you knew what my SAT scores were you might never listen to me again.

But I’m no dummy.

Not even close.

I’ve read lots of books.

Listened to and watched information products.

But that’s not it.

So what the heck is it?

I have surrounded myself with the best.

I have learned directly from the best.

I network with the best.

I have become friends with the best.

I have spent tens of thousands of dollars hiring the best coaches.

The best, the best, the best.

I have no tolerance for anything less.

I expect the same of you.

And that is why I write you today.

Because I want you to surround yourself with the best.

I want you to raise your game.

I want you to lift up our industry.

I want you to learn from the best.

I can only lead you to the water.

I cannot make you drink.

But I love ya no matter what.

40 Clients in 40 Minutes

July 28, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment

Ok, so I do NOT know if his presentation took 40 minutes. It very well may have been less.

But I do know the result was pretty astounding.

I also know I am going to have to raise the price of my http://AmazingFitnessPresentations.com kit real soon.

See for yourself why I can’t continue to give this info away so cheap:

“Hi Jim,

DOH! How could I forget this?!

July 24, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment

Ryan Lee Boot Camp III has been launched.

You need to be there.

I’ll be there. Lots of very, very successful trainers will be.

You CANNOT afford not to be there.

(please don’t write me and tell me that’s a double negative or some crap)

If you want to start to jump to higher and higher levels you need to know the players who are already there.

The actual content is going to be amazing.

But that’s not the real value.

The real value is in meeting all the other entrepreneurs.

Don’t I always tell you to surround yourself with the right people?

Here is how you do it. You go to Ryan Lee Boot Camp III.

So here’s the deal:

Ryan is offering a FULL moolah back guarantee, PLUS 100 clams out of his own pocket if you don’t think the event kicked complete ass.

This is my affiliate link to sign up.

http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?Clk=2502540

Yes, I will get a commission for your sign up.

But here’s the deal:

If you ask for your moolah back after the event is over, I too will give you 100 smacks out of MY own pocket as well.

If you can look me in the eye - remember, I’ll be there - and tell me you think this event sucked, you’ll get 100 bux from Ryan and 100 from me, PLUS, your full refund from registration.

If you attend and take action on what you have been taught…

If you attend and make the most of the networking afforded you…

…your business WILL be taken to levels you probably never thought possible.

Here’s the link again:

http://www.1shoppingcart.com/app/?Clk=2502540

I’d better see you there.

Makes the most of the Internet for you

July 24, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment

I got the idea for this newsletter after Jayson Hunter showed me an email exchange between him and one of our http://CarbRotationDiet.com newsletter readers.

Plain and simple, Jayson told this woman she should NOT purchase the book because she wasn’t willing to follow some of the basic principles of it.

She wrote back to him thanking him SO much for his honesty and went on to write about how many scam artists there are online these days.

So here’s the lesson:

That’s why you can use tools like Twitter

and Facebook

to build relationships with your prospects.

My friend and fellow fitness pro, Scott Tousignant, may very well have the hardest last name in the world to pronounce ;-)

BUT he’s amazing at using all the tools available to him on the Internet to build credibility and relationships.

Scott also takes full advantage of http://Thei360blog.com software to kick serious you know what in the search engines.

If you haven’t seen already, I’ve done away with my sad little Blogspot blog and moved into the year 2008 with http://JimLabadie.com

Harness the power of the Internet. Use all the tools available to you.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

PS - Seriously, get with the program and switch to http://Thei360blog.com - they can even transfer over all your old posts into your new 21st century blog.

Personal Training Success

July 22, 2008 by jim · 14 Comments

When it comes to building a personal training business, there are two very basic traits that I see in successful entrepreneurs.

1) They have an outrageous desire to succeed.

And I mean OUTRAGEOUS.

2) They are persistent as hell.

They may fail a thousand times, but they just ain’t gonna stop until they’re dreams come true.

You probably see the same traits in your most successful training clients.

What do YOU think? What are the most important keys to success in business, life and/or fitness?

Post YOUR comment below and let the Elite Personal Training Community know what your thoughts are on the keys to success.

Thanks!

Precious, plain and simple

July 22, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment

I was interviewed on Monday about some of the biggest mistakes trainers make as business owners.

In case you didn’t know, it’s not just trainers that make these mistakes. It’s most small business owners.

One of the biggest is the almost complete disregard people have for their own time.

The mistake? Not having a plan in place to protect yours like a pile of gold brick from the very start.

I harp about this a lot because it’s so flippin’ important.

You can buy more of pretty much anything when it comes to business.

Heck, with the right marketing and PR you can pretty much buy credibility.

But you can’t buy back time gone by.

Bottom line: Time is your most precious commodity. It’s so cliche because it’s so true.

You can save more time by:

Getting my http://HowToGetMoreClients.com kit and drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to close a sale.

If you shaved 15 minutes off of every sales consultation you give, how much time would that add up to over the course of a year?

Seriously, if you were able to save even 5 minutes here and there doing things, what would it add up to over a lifetime?

If you were a member of http://ProgradeBusiness.com, how much time would it save you if your clients were shipped their nutritional products via autoship each month?

What if you used http://TrainerShoppingCart.com to write your email newsletters and schedule them to go out while you were on vacation?

Work smart. Be smart. Do smart.

Don’t let life pass you by.

PS. If you really want to save time and jumpstart the cash flow, check out http://www.howtoprofitwithbootcamps.com.  You’ll save time, and make a lot of moolah!
