Because these kids need your help

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I’m not even sure where to begin on this one.
But I’m going to do my best to explain how you can help Jayson Hunter and me give thousands and thousands of bux to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
You see, our friend and fellow fitness internet marketer, Jon Benson, is having an all out affiliate promotion bonanza.
I’ve never seen this done before. He’s putting affiliates together in teams. And the team leader who puts together the best team gets some SERIOUS bonus moolah for taking a leadership role.
But instead of asking you to be a part of a team and help us win this loot, we’re going to take a different approach.
We want you to join our team - Team Charity - and whatever prize moolah we win we will donate to Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Now that itself is pretty cool, right?
But just as cool is the fact you’ll be promoting some really killer products AND will make 75% commission on each sale you make. And THAT moolah is yours to keep!
Here’s the thing:
We are going up against some absolute MONSTER marketers.
It’s going to take us personal trainers all pulling together to make a run at it. And that’s why we really need your help.
We REALLY want to put on a good showing and make some wishes come true for some kids who deserve it.
You will find more details and how to sign up here:
http://www.jvprofitcenter.com/access/7MM/141/team_Charity
Please take some time and sign up to be a part of our team.
You’ll also receive all the tools and resources to help you promote the products on that site.

Yours in prosperity,

yet another public speaking mistake
September 5, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
The lesson is simple:
Facts and figures don’t really fly.
Don’t act like a robot in front of your audience and regurgitate a bunch of scientific mumbo jumbo.
Communicating emotion in a way that creates a meaningful and personal connection with your audience is what is going to flood your bank account.
But most trainers don’t do that.
They whip out the power point and start giving away the store.
It seems completely counter intuitive but your audience doesn’t want the store, nor the robot.
They want to buy YOU.
If you cannot communicate emotion you cannot be a mega success in business.
Plain and simple.

How to Pick My Brain to Succeed In the Fitness Industry
September 5, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
SMACK.Sometimes I’ll do something for so long that just doesn’t make sense.
And I’ll smack myself in the head after I’ve corrected it.
SMACK.
You’re not the only one who self-sabotages.
There are times we have something extraordinarily valuable staring us in the face and don’t even know it.
It might be an opportunity to save time.
It might be a chance to learn something profound that will change our business - and us - forever.
It might be even be a circumstance where you get to ask someone a question that you KNOW if answered, your life would be so much easier.
Hmmmm. Watcha think about that.
I get a lot of people who email me and want the chance to pick my brain.
Well, did you know you CAN pick my brain if you are a member of http://PersonalTrainerU.com
And Pat Rigsby’s brain.
And Nick Berry’s brain.
And hundreds of other successful personal trainers.
It costs a freakin’ dollar to pick our brains for 30 days.
SMACK.

Yours in prosperity,

The Ultimate Reason Why
September 1, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
This may be the most important newsletter I’ve ever written, so please be sure to read all of it.
There’s a company I know that has grown to become very successful for one reason beyond all others:
They had a big enough “why.”
Their leader was told for years that what he wanted to accomplish just couldn’t be done.
Time after time he was turned away by programmers who told him the software he needed created to make his dream a reality just couldn’t be written.
But this man had a big enough “why.”
And he never quit on his dream because of it.
You see, this man was inspired by the death of his own brother to create a company that helped people show appreciation for one another.
He had missed the chance to tell his brother he loved him, and he vowed to build a business that would prevent others from doing the same.
When everyone was telling him it couldn’t be done he would only need think back to his reason “why.”
He had made a promise to his brother and it would NOT be broken. Read more
Invisible fitness powers
September 1, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
Something I haven’t talked about recently is the power that comes for surrounding yourself with the right people.
And “people” includes your clients, you know.
I cannot begin to tell you the number of trainers I’ve heard from who use my Velvet Rope approach to eliminate headache clients.
Last week I wrote you about how perfectionism will kill your business quick.
Well, being surrounded with negative clients, friends and family all day is another deadly weapon to avoid all costs.
When you’re a good marketer and you have a steady stream of prospects coming in it’s pretty easy to turn away people you KNOW would make lousy clients.
And when you surround yourself with others personal trainers who are super positive and dedicated to helping you grow, well, it’s a lot easier to deal with friends and family telling you to give up and get a job.

Ultimate personal training hobby
August 29, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
I’m actually writing this to you on Saturday, August 23rd. There’s a couple reasons why:
1- I’m going to Vegas this week to Mastermind with some of the world’s most talented fitness internet marketers.
2- The other is, I love it.
I treat my businesses like businesses. But a lot of the time this is like one big hobby.
I love to “work.”
I love to learn about business and marketing.
But if YOU don’t…if you DREAD this stuff…
Well, you might rethink what you’re doing.
This stuff needs to become a part of the fabric of who you are.
If you can’t stand the thought of even opening a book on marketing you ought to stay an employee.
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
Life is too short not to do things you love the vast majority of the time.
Yes, there will always be times when you have stuff you MUST do that you just don’t feel like doing.
But business building should be fun.
It should be exciting.
You should be passionate about it.
Just some food for thought.

Yours in prosperity,

Typical health club trainer
August 28, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
This isn’t the case everywhere, but a lot of places.
It’s pretty easy to be the dominant trainer in your club because the typical club trainer is:
- More interested in the opposite sex members of the club than their clients.
- More interested in complaining to their clients than actually training them.
- Completely unwilling to learn anything about sales or marketing - never mind actually put those skills to use.
So if you’re “cutting your teeth” in a club gaining valuable experience before starting your own thing, then follow this advice: Read more
Wisdom of the fitness wealthy

Another message I repeat over and over today:
Wealthy people understand deep down in their soul the most precious commodity is time.
Most people say that, but they don’t really get it.
So let’s get you started on some ways to make more of yours:
Stone Temple Workout
August 25, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
On Wednesday night Carol and I went to the Stone Temple Pilots concert here in South Florida.
We probably watched half of the opening act, and I must say, they were better than most.
Now I’m no musician, but these guys were pretty good pros. But there was nothing spectacular about them. In fact, I still don’t know the name of the band.
STP was a whole other story. Read more
Easy training business growth
August 23, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
As you know, I’m a HUGE believer in using public speaking to grow your training business.
Would you rather sell to one person at a time, or dozens.
That’s why you should be spending time each week actively seeking out speaking engagements.
Pretty easy.
In fact, it’s one of the 6 weekly activities found in the http://personaltraineru.com/ Six Figure Six system we unveiled last night. Read more
