Fitness Marketing Public speaking nightmare come true

October 27, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I had been worried about it all year. It had seriously been on my mind from the start of my freshman year in high school.

Speech class.

Yes, to get out of the 9th grade I was going to have to take Speech class.

And when I tell you it kept me up at nights I’m not even close to kidding.

So, as the the subject of this headline suggests, yes, my greatest fear came true during my first presentation.

I was up in front of the class trying to get through my notes when a kid in the front row screamed, “Look at Labadie, he’s shaking!”

Yup, literally shaking in my sneakers.

But you know what. I made it through. I made it through that speech and many, many since.

And I cannot begin to tell you how much muney that skill has made me. In fact, if I hadn’t fought through that fear and learned how to speak in front of people I’m not sure where I would be right now.

I wouldn’t be writing you all these emails, that’s for sure.

The lesson is simple: Don’t let your fears run your life. Because they sure as you know what will if you let them.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

PS - My http://AmazingFitnessPresentations.com will teach you how I’ve used public fitness marketing speaking to make lots of muney. Period.

Looking out for you with this one

Point blank:
If you rely on one source of income you’re potentially screwed.
Do you have any idea how many trainers I hear from who tell me they get ‘killed’ in August when their affluent clients leave on extended vacations and don’t come in for training.
Yet again, that is why I am a firm believe in Boot Camps.
By training groups you can make much more in less time.
You then use that extra time to create multiple streams of income.
- Work on building your autoship supplement sales into your business
- Create a SYSTEM for selling your info products
- You could start a Send Out Cards business on the side
- Make a program for traveling clients so when they leave for vacation you continue to service them and make moolah
You also use that extra time to learn everything you can about business, sales, marketing, publicity…
I’ll say it till the cows come home:
THINK like a business owner NOT a personal trainer.

Yours in prosperity,

Should I be mad at you

This weekend I was at the Ryan Lee Boot Camp networking with some of the most ambitious fitness professionals on the planet.
As I always write you, you simply MUST surround yourself with people who are high-achievers and successful business owners.
So how have you been doing with that lately.
Who makes up your inner-circle.
Have you taken any wealthy people in your town out to lunch lately.
Are you on http://PersonalTrainerU.com soaking up the positive vibes.
If you want to be rich you need to hang out with the rich.
Who loves ya? ;-)
Yours in prosperity,

PS - Get your butt on http://PersonalTrainerU.com and you’ll immediately be surrounded by trainers who DO make lots of moolah.

This is what pisses so many experienced personal trainers off on the Internet.

Many super successful Information Marketers, coaches, experts and gurus simply are NOT the best at what they do.
They may be close. But most are good enough in their chosen field to deliver results.
What makes them so successful is the fact they are the best in their field at marketing themself.
They are so-called shameless self-promoters.
And here is their big secret: Read more

Some people love them. Some people hate them.

But one thing is for certain:

Reality TV shows ain’t going anywhere soon.

In fact, I just saw a segment on the Today Show about a seminar which helps Reality TV Wanabees learn what producers of the shows are looking for in cast members.

How does this relate to you. Read more

Be yourself and succeed as a personal trainer

This weekend is the Ryan Lee Boot Camp.

I’ll be there. Hope you will, too.

In 2005 I spoke there and told audience members what was probably the most important thing you can ever learn about self-promotion.

It’s not rocket-science. I’m pretty confident you’ve heard this before.

It’s better to be hated for who you are than be loved for who you’re not.

I make a damn good living at being myself in these emails.

When you meet me in person I’m the same guy. Read more

Stone Temple Workout

On Wednesday night Carol and I went to the Stone Temple Pilots concert here in South Florida.

We probably watched half of the opening act, and I must say, they were better than most.

Now I’m no musician, but these guys were pretty good pros. But there was nothing spectacular about them. In fact, I still don’t know the name of the band.

STP was a whole other story. Read more
