Terrible financial news for trainers
September 10, 2008 by jim · 2 Comments
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I realized something the other day when a trainer emailed me he is excited to achieve a six figure SALARY.
What’s wrong with that, you wonder.
Well, that is the thinking of an employee, not a business owner.
Actually, I should write, a WEALTHY business owner.
Too many trainers start a business without taking into consideration whatsoever the tax advantages that come with owning your own corporation.
They fail to realize they want their taxable income to be as low as possible.
Instead of hiring a team of qualified financial planners, attorneys and tax advisors they instead stuff all their receipts into a shoe box and have their spouse do their books at the end of the year.
Intelligent business owners abide by all tax laws. But they also work with savvy pros to reduce the amount they pay in taxes to a low as legally possible.
Building great wealth and financial freedom goes way beyond hitting that elusive 6 figure mark.
And on http://PersonalTrainerU.com we will be emphasizing this topic a great deal more.
We want you to build WEALTH, not just a boot camp business that more than pays the bills.
We’re talking about instilling a mindset in you that the world’s wealthiest already have:
- Your time is your most valuable commodity
- Abide by tax laws, but work with a team of advisors to limit your tax liability as much as possible
- Make your moolah work for you
You might want to reread that last one again as I have not placed enough emphasis on it in this newsletter.
The super wealthy don’t have to work - at all. Their muney does all the work for them.
As I’ve told you recently, we’re taking things to a whole new level.
I’m telling you point blank: The trainers on http://PersonalTrainerU.com are at a distinct advantage over the ones who are not.
Period.
Still love ya.
Yours in prosperity,
PS - Do NOT make the mistake of ignoring this advice. The failure to learn about the true advantages of being incorporated WILL lead you to pay an untold fortune in taxes you may have been able to shield.
PPS - Again, I’m telling you point blank: The trainers on http://PersonalTrainerU.com are at a distinct advantage over the ones who are not.
How to Pick My Brain to Succeed In the Fitness Industry

SMACK.Sometimes I’ll do something for so long that just doesn’t make sense.
And I’ll smack myself in the head after I’ve corrected it.
SMACK.
You’re not the only one who self-sabotages.
There are times we have something extraordinarily valuable staring us in the face and don’t even know it.
It might be an opportunity to save time.
It might be a chance to learn something profound that will change our business - and us - forever.
It might be even be a circumstance where you get to ask someone a question that you KNOW if answered, your life would be so much easier.
Hmmmm. Watcha think about that.
I get a lot of people who email me and want the chance to pick my brain.
Well, did you know you CAN pick my brain if you are a member of http://PersonalTrainerU.com
And Pat Rigsby’s brain.
And Nick Berry’s brain.
And hundreds of other successful personal trainers.
It costs a freakin’ dollar to pick our brains for 30 days.
SMACK.

The Ultimate Reason Why
September 1, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
This may be the most important newsletter I’ve ever written, so please be sure to read all of it.
There’s a company I know that has grown to become very successful for one reason beyond all others:
They had a big enough “why.”
Their leader was told for years that what he wanted to accomplish just couldn’t be done.
Time after time he was turned away by programmers who told him the software he needed created to make his dream a reality just couldn’t be written.
But this man had a big enough “why.”
And he never quit on his dream because of it.
You see, this man was inspired by the death of his own brother to create a company that helped people show appreciation for one another.
He had missed the chance to tell his brother he loved him, and he vowed to build a business that would prevent others from doing the same.
When everyone was telling him it couldn’t be done he would only need think back to his reason “why.”
He had made a promise to his brother and it would NOT be broken. Read more
Invisible fitness powers

Something I haven’t talked about recently is the power that comes for surrounding yourself with the right people.
And “people” includes your clients, you know.
I cannot begin to tell you the number of trainers I’ve heard from who use my Velvet Rope approach to eliminate headache clients.
Last week I wrote you about how perfectionism will kill your business quick.
Well, being surrounded with negative clients, friends and family all day is another deadly weapon to avoid all costs.
When you’re a good marketer and you have a steady stream of prospects coming in it’s pretty easy to turn away people you KNOW would make lousy clients.
And when you surround yourself with others personal trainers who are super positive and dedicated to helping you grow, well, it’s a lot easier to deal with friends and family telling you to give up and get a job.
Join the fitness pros on http://personaltraineru.com/ taking part in our Three More Mission:

Ultimate personal training hobby
August 29, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
I’m actually writing this to you on Saturday, August 23rd. There’s a couple reasons why:
1- I’m going to Vegas this week to Mastermind with some of the world’s most talented fitness internet marketers.
2- The other is, I love it.
I treat my businesses like businesses. But a lot of the time this is like one big hobby.
I love to “work.”
I love to learn about business and marketing.
But if YOU don’t…if you DREAD this stuff…
Well, you might rethink what you’re doing.
This stuff needs to become a part of the fabric of who you are.
If you can’t stand the thought of even opening a book on marketing you ought to stay an employee.
And there’s nothing wrong with that.
Life is too short not to do things you love the vast majority of the time.
Yes, there will always be times when you have stuff you MUST do that you just don’t feel like doing.
But business building should be fun.
It should be exciting.
You should be passionate about it.
Just some food for thought.
Who loves ya?
Yours in prosperity,
PS - Trainers who LOVE this stuff are making it happen on http://personaltraineru.com/ - it’s the Ultimate support community for any fitness pro who loves business.
Stone Temple Workout
August 25, 2008 by jim · Leave a Comment
On Wednesday night Carol and I went to the Stone Temple Pilots concert here in South Florida.
We probably watched half of the opening act, and I must say, they were better than most.
Now I’m no musician, but these guys were pretty good pros. But there was nothing spectacular about them. In fact, I still don’t know the name of the band.
STP was a whole other story. Read more

I repeat the same messages to you over and over and over for one reason:
You can NEVER hear them enough.
And neither can I.
