These people make me sick, says Jim Labadie Personal Training Marketing Expert

Today I’m in Pittsburgh to watch my beloved Steelers play the NY Giants.

I flew in yesterday and will fly out tomorrow. I’m fully aware this is not a little luxury many people can afford.

But I’ll tell you what: I’ve worked my friggin’ ass off to get to this point in my life.

And while I could go on and on about Entitlement Mentality, I thought I’d simply share the article that gave me the idea for this little rant.

Please note I do NOT know the author. In fact, I’d never heard of the man until I read it.

But he says it all.

Enjoy your Sunday. I know I’m going to enjoy mine.

Good luck in your personal trainer marketing, I’ll be giving you more information soon.

Some people love them. Some people hate them.

But one thing is for certain:

Reality TV shows ain’t going anywhere soon.

In fact, I just saw a segment on the Today Show about a seminar which helps Reality TV Wanabees learn what producers of the shows are looking for in cast members.

How does this relate to you. Read more

Be yourself and succeed as a personal trainer

This weekend is the Ryan Lee Boot Camp.

I’ll be there. Hope you will, too.

In 2005 I spoke there and told audience members what was probably the most important thing you can ever learn about self-promotion.

It’s not rocket-science. I’m pretty confident you’ve heard this before.

It’s better to be hated for who you are than be loved for who you’re not.

I make a damn good living at being myself in these emails.

When you meet me in person I’m the same guy. Read more

Something you need to understand

When you give a free presentation to a networking group, civic organization or club, the people who come up to you immediately afterwards are the ones who want MORE free info.

They’ll practically “rush the stage” to get at you ahead of everyone else.

The ones who want to hire you are the ones who will patiently wait behind that crowd a little while until you are done talking to the moochers.

Unfortunately, if you handle your talk the wrong way there will be so many moochers the people who want to hire you are likely to leave.

They can’t wait around for ever, so make sure you know how to handle things the right way.

At the end of the day…

Just received this question for a more-than-satisfied http://HowToGetMoreClients.com customer.

****

Hi Jim,

First of all I’d like to say a thank you for the information that you send in the emails, I keep them all and read some of them again when I’m about to sit down and take action against some of my goals for the day. Very motivating and inspiring!

Also got Ultimate Sales kit a couple of months ago and that has also helped me to no end. While I thought I was pretty good at sales, the information has helped me convert even more clients but just as important to me, saved time by not doing long drawn out consultations.

Hell, I even convert the email queries by tackling them differently. A lot more to be implemented but progressing all the time.

I’d like to ask you a quick question as to where you stand on advertising your prices/packages on your website for PT services please. Do you think it is something you have to do, worth doing or to stay away from and by doing so concentrate on the service, USP’s, pain etc and then getting into the numbers as part of the prospecting.

One of my thoughts is that you may deter a prospect contacting you because they get more influenced by the price than they ought to be when the exact same prospect could contact you via the website with no price information and not be deterred by the price because the sales meeting has worked it’s magic.

Where do you stand on this, Jim.

Thanks again.”

JL: First, I’m very happy to see the Ultimate Sales Kit for Fitness Professionals kit is money in the bank for you.

And you’ve hit the nail on the head. The amount of time that kit saves you is worth a King’s ransom.

Now, on to your question.

At the end of the day, the answer is, you have to test to see what works best for you.

Some trainers will testify until their blue in the face you MUST put your prices on your website to get rid of the tire-kickers.

Others will swear up and down you should NEVER have them on your site.

Personally, I think if your prices are in line with your competition you CAN have them on your site. But again, test and see.

At the same time, if your prices are WAY more than the competition your best bet will probably be to keep them off the site.

When in doubt, test and analyze the results.

When all is said and done, that is the ONLY way to know for sure.

Who loves ya? ;-)

Yours in prosperity,

Jim Labadie

You hear it over and over again:

“Just one little thing can turn your world upside down.”

In this case, I mean upside down in a good way.

But it really is true. And it really is plain and simple.

One idea can take you from barely scraping by, to making moolah hand over fist.

But some people seem determined to reinvent the wheel.

Dustin Maher is NOT one of those people.

Dustin Maher is one of my http://HowToProfitWithBootCamps.com customers who is taking the world by storm.

The proof is in the pudding:

“Jim,

I just wanted to thank you for giving me the confidence and the tools to run outdoor bootcamps.

I purchased your Boot Camp Marketing program late spring and set a launch date of 6 weeks from the time I received it.

I decided to go big and open up 4 different camps for my first crack at bootcamps. I hired another trainer to do one of them and I did the other three. I decided to run my bootcamps in six week sessions and I am coming upon my final week of the first session.

The response has been amazing!

I have 40 paid members and they are all enjoying it greatly! I am opening up two more locations for my next session of boot camps that will start in just over a week.

My goal is to have 70 paid members for this coming session.

The tools that are in your program allowed me to get such a great turnout and helped me become the boot camp leader in Madison, Wisconsin!

It is great knowing I am helping so many people out and making about $140 an hour doing so!

I would highly recommend your program to people who are looking to change more lives and make more money doing it!”

Sincerely,
Dustin Maher

JL: Awesome job, Dustin. Hopefully this is just the wake-up call other fitness pros who were sitting on the fence needed.

To quote The Shawshank Redemption:

“Get busy living, or get busy dying.”

Make it happen.

Get with the program

Do you have any idea what would happen if you knew how to take your audience on an emotional roller coaster ride?

If you keep presenting the same ole facts and figures you’re a glutton for punishment.

You see, if you take the time to:

Book the presentation

Prepare the presentation

Travel to the presentation

Give the presentation

Travel back from the presentation

Why would you let so much moolah fall through the cracks?

You could knock one out of the park and still not walk out with any paying clients.

While doing a great job of educating people about fitness is nothing to sneeze at, wouldn’t you rather do that AND laugh all the way to the bank?

It’s a piece of cake when you know what you’re doing.

Jim Labadie
